WHO WE ARE

The Girls With Voices, GWV program is a 501(c)3 program that provides self-esteem enrichment to girls ages 10-18 years of age with the tools needed to reinforce their value and worth as they transition through various stages of life.

OUR MISSION

"Our mission is to empower young girls to embrace their inner strength and unique worth, fostering self-esteem and mental well-being. We are dedicated to providing a supportive community where every girl feels valued and heard, offering resources and encouragement to build resilience, confidence, and a positive self-image. Together, we strive to create a world where every girl can thrive, celebrate her individuality, and pursue her dreams with courage and optimism."

OUR VISION

To help our girls make choices that will instill responsibility and accountability for their actions. The program provides important information for girls to understand themselves, appreciate their uniqueness, and share who they are with the world.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Girls today need a secure environment where they can safely explore the many issues surrounding their lives. It is essential for them to discover themselves, share their unique stories and to be heard by caring, loving people who have their best interest at hand. Through sharing of themselves the girls learn how to discover and effectively use their voices.

ABOUT US

The concept for Girls With Voices, Inc. was envisioned in October 2018. After being approached by several girls who voiced their desire for an all-girls program where they could express themselves and share life’s hurdles in a safe environment with their like-minded peers, Letungia and Patrice Hill sprang into action and with a few volunteers Girls With Voices, Inc. (GWV) was established. Ms. Hill #1 and Ms. Hill #2 as they are commonly referred to by the girls realized that in today’s society, our youth in general are lacking the skills needed to combat life’s ever-changing hurdles and with onset of the pandemic and the chaos that it wreaked over the past few years, made those challenges all the more chaotic. By having our GWV program already set in placed allowed us to work with our girls in preparation to equip them with the mindset needed to deal with the setback of the pandemic, the issues they were facing in school with regards to their studies, being able to express their anxieties and concerns during check-ins and obtain support from their mentors and peers as to the steps they can take to avoid choices and behaviors that will limit their potential for future success. The bottom line is, we want our girls to strive and to restore their belief in themselves. We want them to persevere in the face of life and academic challenges, focus on their self-esteem, learn to value themselves, discover and develop their inherent strengths, and receive the support they need to navigate the challenges they face in their day to day lives. Whether our girls are learning to develop healthy relationships withing their families or peers, sharing in round table discussions with one another or speaking in a professional or public setting, we will strive to ensure their success so they can become productive leaders and women in their communities.
